And now

Beginning of 2006, I am in the need of a new challenge again. It is time to emancipate and create my own business.

In Burgundy - Domaine Jean Féry & Fils, in Echevronne
Since 2006, I oversee the vinyards, vinify and sign the wines from the Domaine Jean Féry & Fils in Echevronne. For me this association is mostly important. Jean-Louis Féry native of the village and who is a lawyer in Lyon leaves me « carte blanche » to fully implement my philosophy.
The 11ha (27 acres) of the Domaine are farmed organic and are spread on the Côte de Beaune and on the Côte de Nuits.
In Burgundy - The Pascal Marchand's signature
I am also developping my micro-negociant, garage range of wines based in Nuits-St-Georges. I choose small lots among growers that I know well, who I trust, whose wines I enjoy for many years and who have a working ethics in harmony with my beliefs: Respect for the vines, the fruit, the wine and traditionnal craftmanship with low oenological interventions.
I proceed to a careful selection to find the best Villages, Premiers Crus and Grands Crus and express at the best, these exceptionnal terroirs. I also created a cuvée of Pinot Noir « Avalon », from Burgundy, which is a blend of differents Villages and Premiers Crus. For this wine, I source from several appellations as Monthélie, St Romain, Côte de Nuits Villages, Chassagne 1er cru, Pernand-Vergelesses, Beaune 1er cru, Morey St Denis, etc...
This will give a standard for Burgundian Pinot Noir, vintage after vintage.
In Australia - Marchand&Burch, in Great Southern, Western Australia
With my friend Jeff Burch, the owner of Howard Park winery and Mad Fish, we created the brand Marchand&Burch in the Great Southern of Western Australia. We produce 3 wines: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Shiraz. Burgundian inspiration and techniques with Australian fruit, beautiful.
In Chile - Veranda, in Biobio Valley
This label was started as a joint venture between Boisset and Corpora (now VC Family Estate) in 2002 and was put under my responsability.
When I left Boisset, begining of 2006, the ownership of the brand was transfer 100% to Corpora and I stay on board as the executive winemaker. Veranda is now producing wines from the amazing development that VC Family Estate conducts in the Biobio valley, 600km south of Santiago. This is where Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are from. We also have Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Oda and Pinot Noir Millerandage that are limited edition of selected vineyards inspired by Premiers Crus and Grands Crus from Burgundy. These wines are made with the help of Louis Vallet who trained with me at Domaine de la Vougeraie and spends now 8 months of the year in Chile.
In 2007, VC Family Estate aquiered 30ha (74 acres) in Apalta, the most reknown Chilian location in the heart of the Conchagua Valley. This is where we produce our Syrah, and Cabernet Carménère, and also the new Carménère Oda.
These wines an attentive care from Constanza Schwaderer, a famous Chilian winemaker, who had been part of the Veranda adventure from the beginning in 2002.
